         ORGANIZATIONAL CHARTER

        for the

    BROWARD BEEKEEPERS ASSOCIATION    (Revision 5/18/08)

 

PREAMBLE

 

Every community should make an effort to educate its citizens concerning the benefits of honey bees. This can be accomplished by bringing together local beekeepers in a venue conducive to public education.

 

OBJECTIVES

 

To hold public forums at which beekeepers can provide information and/or services to each other and to the community.

 

To disseminate information concerning honey bees and beekeeping.

 

To encourage good management  practices as a means of maintaining healthy apiaries.

 

MEMBERSHIP

 

Membership is open to beekeepers, and to all individuals interested in the nature and value of honey bees. Members may hold office, serve on committees, vote on issues, and participate in all organizational functions.

 

RULES

 

Rules of the organization will be detailed in the By-Laws.

 

MEETINGS

 

Meetings will be held as necessary to accomplish the stated objectives.

 

 

DISSOLUTION

 

In the event this organization wishes to dissolve and by due process of law shall dissolve, all assets of whatever nature, or their equivalent in value, which remains after the just debts and liabilities of the organization have been satisfied, shall be used for such educational or public benefit which are consistent with the organization’s objectives. No part of the net income or earnings of the organization shall inure to the benefit of any individual member or be distributed to its members or officers.
