Member Participation

We encourage our members to actively participate in the organization.  Experienced beekeepers act as mentors to new beekeepers.  Everyone's input is encouraged.  To become a mentor or to find a mentor, contact John Herring at tropicalprojects1@gmail.com

We have established 2 new committees and need people to act as chairmen.  The first committee is a clearing house for swarms and cutouts.  The chairman will be expected to keep a roster of people who are willing to do these activities.  They will also act as a clearing house for all calls for swarm and cutout service requests.

The second committee is a clearing house for nucs, colonies and equipment.  The chairman will be expected to keep a roster of individuals who currently have available items for sale.  The chairman will also field all requests for these items.

Members also volunteer to be speakers for various educational presentations.  We thank Mr. Robert Rutherford for manning a BBA table at the recent Farm Bureau's Bean and pepper Festival held April 2 in Pompano Beach.
Thanks also to Mr. Craig van der Heiden for speaking at the library in Pompano Beach on April 2 before a garden club for children.  Thanks also to Mr. John Herring for all his help at the Parkland Farmer's Market.  He has been a steady help in manning our table there.  Thanks to everyone for their help and participation.
